SOCMA CONNECT is a grassroots program designed to motivate and encourage participating members to help shape the laws affecting the batch, custom and specialty chemical manufacturing industry. This program encourages and supports the efforts of participating members to communicate with their elected officials on issues and legislation of importance to their company and to the SOCMA membership.

As a participant in SOCMA CONNECT, you will receive:

• Information on how to become involved in the legislative process
• Timely updates on legislation impacting your business
• Opportunities to meet with members of Congress and staff to discuss critical issues
• Training on how to be an effective advocate for the industry
• SOCMA's Congressional Directory
• Access to SOCMA government relations professionals

SOCMA CONNECT members will be asked on occasion to contact their elected officials in a "call to action" to inform them of how a specific piece of legislation could affect their company. Ultimately, SOCMA's influence in Congress depends upon our ability to convey the relevance of our positions to those who cast the votes. It is well known that congressional offices treat constituent communications as their highest priority. Learning whether a constituent supports or opposes a bill or an elected official's position is often the most effective way to advance a legislative agenda.
