What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing Web content, such as news headlines. Using an RSS reader, you can view data feeds from various news sources, such as SOCMA.com, including our headlines, alerts, news and events bulletin. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.
Why RSS?
RSS solves a problem for people who regularly use the web. It allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually.
How do I access RSS?
Feed Reader or News Aggregator software allow you to grab the RSS feeds from various pages of this site and display them for you to read and use. A variety of feed readers are available for different platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac) and can integrate with email clients such as Outlook. It allows you to subscribe to various syndicated news feeds and have news be delivered right into your inbox. There are also a number of web-based feed readers available. My Yahoo, Bloglines, and Google Reader are popular web-based feed readers. A number of free and commercial News Aggregators are available for download. Click here for a list of aggregators.

What Members Are Saying…
“Right off the bat, SOCMA’s ChemStewards provides you with a template that shows you good practices that should be implemented across-the-board. And the dialogue with other members and SOCMA staff is very valuable. You would have to pay a lot of money to bring in that kind of expertise, but with SOCMA, it’s all a benefit of membership.”
