  3. Share Manufacturing Day Through Social Media

    The 5th annual celebration of modern manufacturing is already growing at a healthy pace, with four months left to plan and prepare. More than 225 event hosts have already registered on site, and have begun the process of preparing marketing materials, organizing presentations, and contacting potential attendees. All of this activity is taking place behind the scenes, as preparations are made for Manufacturing Day events that will begin on October 7, 2016 (and continue throughout the month of October).

    More than a dozen SOCMA members and staff met with key officials at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on May 19 for a batch processing and process safety educational exchange. Following recent statements in some of the agency’s published documents, SOCMA was concerned EPA may not fully appreciate the nature of, or how batch processors address process safety.
  7. TSCA II - An Improvement Over Current Law? Only if it promotes innovation….

    I think we can all agree that the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act, as the TSCA reform bill is called, is an improvement over current law. At least it appears to be, big picture. This was an obvious question to ask ourselves to determine whether or not to support the legislation. It seems to be a common sentiment.
