2013 Performance Improvement Awards Program
The application process for the 2013 Performance Improvement Awards has now been finalized. Thank you to all who submitted applications. We received a record number of applicants this year. Winners were selected by a group of SOCMA members who did not submit awards applications. It was a double-blind process.
Applications were judged based on the following five core areas: Stakeholder Communications, Product Stewardship, EHS&S in Planning and Operations, Employee Training and Engagement, and Resource Management and Waste Minimization – specifically taking into account practices and principles that demonstrate continuous improvement above and beyond the requirements of the ChemStewards program. The Sustainability award acknowledges a facility that displays exemplary commitment to sustainability and green chemistry. The Educational Outreach awards celebrate a facility’s efforts to work with local educational programs in areas of chemistry.
Winners will be honored during SOCMA’s 92nd Annual Dinner on December 9, 2013 at the Marriott Marquis, Times Square, New York, N.Y. For event details, registration, and a recap from last year’s annual dinner – click here.

What Members Are Saying…
“SOCMA has had an extraordinary impact on the success of our business. There is no doubt that without SOCMA we definitely would not be as successful as we are today. The organization is an invaluable resource. We don’t part with dues dollars lightly, but believe every dollar spent with SOCMA has provided immeasurable returns.”
