Going forward, there are numerous resources to keep up on EHS&S issues and to find EHS&S tips. Consider:
Do not forget the biggest resource available, SOCMA. The SOCMA website, including the members’ only section, provides access to ChemStewards news, Operator training programs, communication tools and guidance materials (among other things). SOCMA staff are also a great resource.
Another great SOCMA resource is their Chem Alliance web site, www.chemalliance.org. This is an online resource tool that includes a virtual plant tour, topical alerts, links to other sites and an “Ask SOCMA” section.
Lastly consider networking. You are not alone. Your peers are looking for tips, advice, and reassurance just like you are. Use SOCMA Regional meetings and other opportunities where you meet with your peers to establish an informal exchange / network. Bounce your thoughts off of them and be available to give them your opinions.
I hope you have found these EHS&S performance tips to be interesting, useful and at times at least, fun to read. If you have any questions on the content or intent of this series of EHS&S Performance Tips, feel free to drop us an EMAIL and I’ll take my best shot at making things clearer.
