March Luncheon Speech Topic Announced
The Future of Fine Chemicals: Where Do We Go From Here?
The fine chemicals industry has been faced with increased commoditization, lower rates of innovation, and stronger competition for decades. The next decade will see more of the same and prove pivotal for Western manufacturers. Today, as we struggle to emerge from the global financial crisis, we should look to the future with concerned yet hopeful eyes. To emerge successful, we must put our old ways of doing business behind us by leveraging the entire value chain, by taking a more holistic approach to innovation, and by reinventing our current business models.
Mr. Borgas will discuss value-creating opportunities to tackle these great challenges.
Stefan Borgas has been the CEO of Lonza since 2004. Prior to coming to Lonza, Mr. Borgas held various positions at BASF Group. The most recent position was Group Vice-President, Regional Business Unit Fine Chemicals North America. Mr. Borgas is a member of the Board of Directors of Syngenta and a Board Member of the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce.
