The Public Relations Department offers a variety of free services to SOCMA members, including posting press releases, connecting members with the media, assisting with writing and posting blogs, as well as utilizing social media tools such as Twitter and LinkedIn. By utilizing these opportunities, SOCMA can help member companies not only raise their profiles but help shape the conversation and view of your company to the public.
During the webinar, we will walk you through all of SOCMA’s PR offerings and show you just how simple it is for you use them and just how much they can benefit your company.
About the Speakers
Jenny Gaines is the Assistant Manager for Public Relations and Media at SOCMA. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Alabama and more than 20 years experience in the newspaper and public relations fields. Among her duties as a reporter and editor, she has written and edited business and government news at the local, state and national levels, as well as covered Hurricane Katrina in 2005. At SOCMA, she serves as editor of the e-Newsletter, edits and oversees postings to the SOCMA blog, posts member press releases to SOCMA.com, reaches out to members regarding PR offerings and assists with SOCMA’s social media campaign on Twitter and LinkedIn.
Christine Sanchez is Senior Manager of Public Relations and Media at SOCMA, where she plans, develops and implements the Public Relations program for the association. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass media and communications from Rutgers University. She is a former journalist with more than 10 years of experience in public/media relations and strategic communications. Sanchez led the Public Affairs Department at the Armenian Assembly of America and was part of the editorial team for MSNBC, where she worked with the political talk show “Equal Time,” hosted by Paul Begala and Oliver North. During her time at MSNBC, she also helped cover the September 11 attacks and the war in Afghanistan.
