  • SOCMA Applauds Signing of Miscellaneous Tariff Bill into Law

    ARLINGTON, VA - The Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) applauds Congress and the Administration for reinstating the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB) Act of 2018 on Thursday, September 13. The House of Representatives agreed in a voice vote on September 4 to Senate amendments made to the act last month, sending the legislation to the President for signature. 
  • SOCMA Calls on USTR to Delist Chemicals from Latest Round of Chinese Tariffs

    ARLINGTON, VA – The Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) testified Wednesday before the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Section 301 Committee, requesting that all Chinese-origin chemicals be removed from the latest list of proposed tariffs because of the disproportionate impact they will have on the specialty chemical sector.

  • Pilot Chemical Company Opens New Innovation Center

    PITTSBURGH – Pilot Chemical Company officially opened its new, state-of-the-art Innovation Center in Pittsburgh, Pa., on July 25. The center -- an expansion of the Pilot Polymer Technologies laboratory facility in Pittsburgh -- doubles the size of the original facility. Pilot Chemical has added nine new roles to staff the facility, built to address customer needs and develop new products.
